What makes us different?
We are compensated not for making investments, but for making investment decisions.
The difference is crucial. With our fee-based investment platform, we are compensated by our clients and only by our clients, avoiding the conflicts of interest inherent in today’s advisement profession. We do not receive commissions on our managed investment accounts. We do not use proprietary investment products. We do not accept “soft money” from mutual fund companies
Our discretionary, fee-based model gives us the freedom to make prudent decisions in all market conditions. Our "Advance and Preserve" discipline seeks to determine major trends and take action before they occur, helping to remove much of the volatility from our clients' portfolios. For example, if we expect markets to deteriorate, we can move clients’ portfolios to cash equivalents quickly and without hesitation, as we did in early 2008. Conversely, if we expect condiitons to improve, we can move clients' portfolios back into the markets, as we did in early April of 2009.
Do we follow our own advice? Yes, we do. We use the same platform and disciplines for our officers’ assets as we do for yours. It’s called “putting your money where your mouth is.”
Our wealth advisement is thoughtful and comprehensive. Through our Focused Wealth® process, we journey with our clients to address their priorities and wishes, including business sale or succession planning, advanced estate planning, retirement planning, Legacy planning, and more.
When we founded Zeller Kern, we asked ourselves, “What kind of advisory would we want managing our financial future?” The result is the company we are today.
