Trevor Kern is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary,® Accredited Asset Management Specialist, practicing Wealth Advisor, and Vice President/CFO of Zeller Kern Private Wealth Management. He began his career at A.G. Edwards, working with Steve Zeller while earning his Master’s degree in Finance at California State University, Sacramento in 2001. During his career, Trevor has focused on providing proactive wealth management and complex investment portfolio management for his clients. He is committed to providing individualized and personal wealth management strategies, offering thoughtful and unique financial planning advice. Trevor and Steve shared a vision for creating a comprehensive wealth management process, our Focused Wealth® Process, and made that vision a reality by founding Zeller Kern Private Wealth Management.
Trevor is active in professional development organizations, building his knowledge and skills in wealth management. Trevor holds his Series 7, Series 30, Series 31, Series 63 and Series 66 registrations. He is currently working towards earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Trevor works extensively with business owners to manage their personal wealth and retirement plans as well as the retirement plans of employees. He helps clients establish, manage and maintain defined benefit plans (pension plans) and defined contribution plans (including 401k, 457, 403b, profit-sharing plans, money purchase plans, SEP and SIMPLE IRAs). He also provides guidance on how to transition from these plans at or before retirement, using IRA rollovers and in-service non-hardship withdrawals.
Trevor is an active participant in the community. He serves on the advisory board of the Sacramento Small Business Development Center, which offers training to help small business owners start and grow their businesses. Outside of the office, Trevor enjoys time with his family and friends, hiking, fishing, golf, and woodworking. He also loves to travel, and plans to visit every park in the National Park System.
